The bright unmarked blade on this one has some stain but most crossgrain remains. It has a solid fit and a perfect tip. The blade rates Exc+. It shows minor surface scratching and age graying throughout. The original brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, black enamel re-painted scabbard is in excellent condition! It shows minor spotting throughout yet retains 99%+ of its paint coverage and it remains completely dent free! The folded black leather strap has had two rivets come loose. The snap continues to work very well but leave it be as the leather is torn! The leather is supple but very thin and this is typical of later-war construction. The hilt is constructed out of a zinc-alloy base that has been nickel-silver plated. The plating remains in excellent condition, being 98%+ intact. The two black checkered, bakelite grip plates are tightly secured to the hilt by two steel rivets. To the center obverse of the grip is a beautiful HJ diamond.
