Wehrmacht “Feldgendarmerie” Gorget

Wehrmacht Ringkragen "Feldgendarmerie" (Army Military Field Police) . It is a multi piece construction, made out of die stamped steel/alloy base that has been silver washed and painted light grey, dark grey and luminous yellow and matte grey. The kidney shaped obverse features a centrally placed Heer eagle, with out-stretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons, above a grey bannered “Feldgendarmerie” in yellow and flanked by two pebbled buttons. The eagle, buttons and banner script all have a luminous yellow paint, allowing them to glow in the dark for identification at night. It continues to glow in the dark. The hollow back reverse has its protective, cut-out, cardboard backing and displays all of its silvered tabs. Comes complete with its steel based, silver washed , forty-two link, suspension chain. Minor calcification. Normally the obverse background is silvered, this one has been painted grey. It measures roughly 6 3/5 inches wide by 4 1/8 inches tall. A great display item, in excellent condition!
