An Imperial U-Boots-Kriegsabzeichen by Paul Meybauer of Berlin. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been gold gilded. The oval shaped obverse depicts a U-Boat that is surrounded by a laurel leaf and ribbon wreath and is below an imperial crown. The full back reverse displays maker marked with Meybauer’s imperial crest. It also features a soldered on tombak block hinge, soldered on round wire catch and a nickel-silver coke bottle pin. All of the components are non-magnetic and remain working well. The details throughout the U-boat, crown and wreath look excellent! Only minor ageing. It measures approximately 1 7/8 inches wide and tall. A nice one!
