Eickhorn Justice Official's Sword

The best sword design of the period! Just imagine for one second what this sword has seen and the fear surrounding it. These Justice Officials held the power of life and death over the Third Reich every day. This one is from an advanced collection where it was cared for like a baby. This pattern Prison sword may well be the evilest looking pattern of all Third Reich swords. Cast of aluminum and lacquered this was the later version on this pattern. Lots of time and care went into these. The long 34" plated blade rates Exc++. There is a bit of oxidation right at the reverse under the languet and under the maker mark. This blade is marked with the stamped to the reverse with the mid-period Eickhorn maker mark. Sorry it's near impossible to photograph up and under there but trust me, it's there. This pattern is illustrated in Angolia's reference. The correct black glossy enamel painted scabbard has evidence of use. It is dent-free but has wear, spidering and paint loss. Say 90% of the paint remains. The "P" guard has deeply detailed feather pattern similar to that of the back-strap continuing down from the bird head. The obverse languet features a raised-out long-winged Casburg, (Eickhorn's Head Artist), designed political-style eagle. The grip is black celluloid and is in perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped with triple brass wire. Nicely finishing this is the sword troddle which I can't find in my references but came with this so there it stays.
