Here we have a Rare Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by C. Lütters & Co! The blade on this one looks excellent. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto, “C. Lütters & Co.” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” patent are all beautifully executed! The fit continues to remain nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates a solid Exc++. It shows surface scratches, age grey and clouding throughout. The leather buffer pad is lost to time. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent as well. It remains completely dent free and holds 90%+ of its original paint coverage. The brown scabbard leather is in great condition. There are the commonly seen cracks to the leathers stress points. All of its rivets are intact. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 75%+ of its plating. Typical wear where the snap/rivet would be. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in perfect condition and are tightly secured to the hilt with two solid nickel-silver rivets. The small HJ diamond retains 97%+ of its enamel. A nice piece, a rare maker!
