Here we have a Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by Solinger Axt und Hauerfabrik. The blade on this one is a looks excellent! The dark and crisp, acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "Solinger Axt und Hauerfabrik" manufacturer's mark are both beautifully executed! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The crossgrain is wonderful easily visible through the full length of the balde. The blade rates an Exc++/NM. It shows the common age spotting and surface scratches/runner marks throughout. The brown anodized scabbard looks great. It has some age oxidization spots and one pressure mark to the reverse. Some of the original factory lacquer remains intact. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great! The ball has a wee bruise to the very bottom and continues to remain round . All four screws remain intact! The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The crossguards match the scabbard fittings in wear, color and patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Wf" (Westfalen). The grip / crossguard fits are perfect! The brown hardwood grip looks excellent. There are a few pressure marks but no flakes, cracks or chips. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A gorgeous piece that will fit in well with your collection!
