Always a hit with collectors Tiger made some great blades, I sure do love the look of this maker! Here we have a Model 1933 NSKK Dagger (Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps Dienstdolch) by Tiger of Solingen (Tiger (Lauterjung & Co.) of Solingen). The blade on this one is a real looker! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfectly sharp point. The dark and crisp, acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "Tiger Solingen" maker mark are both beautifully executed! The crossgrain wonderfully displays. The blade rates an Exc++. It shows the common age spotting and surface scratches throughout. The black period repainted scabbard looks excellent! It has minor evidence of age but no dents. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great! They again have minor evidence of use with wee scratches and small hits. The ball continues to remain round but has a wee "kiss" to the very bottom and all four screws remain intact! The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The crossguards match the scabbard fittings in color and wear. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Nrh". The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The brown hardwood grip looks excellent. There are a few pressure marks yet no cracks, chips or flakes! It looks like the initials PS were scratched in the lower reverse triangle that you can see if you turn the grip just so in the light. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel. A nice piece that will fit in well with your collection!
