One of my favourite makers recently purchased from the Vet's family! The bright blade on this one looks good! It has a tight fit, sharp tip and the "Tiger Solingen" maker mark is nicely executed! There are some fingerprint stains. Overall the blade rates Exc+. The original buffer pad remains intact. The patinaed steel based, plated scabbard looks good as well It is wonderfully detailed with oak leaves, acorns and random pebbling throughout. The two headless side screws remain intact and it continues to remain completely dent free. The aluminium crossguard looks awesome! It is beautifully detailed throughout the eagles feathers and wings along with the top side acorns and oak leaves! The steel ferrule and proud aluminium pommel are both nicely detailed as well! The celluloid covered grip looks excellent being chip-free, there is a small cut above the 4th wire wrap. The springy brass wire wrap remains in excellent condition. Finishing this is an original worn portepee. This was received from the Vet's family. The soldiers name was Kenton Grey Berkley, he was in the first wave on Omaha Beach in Normandy France, and sadly, he passed away this past February.
