Early SA Dagger by Justinuswerk

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

Here we have an Early Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by Justinuswerk (Justus Brenger & Co) of Solingen-Wald. The blade on this one looks good! The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "Justinuswerk Solingen" maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain remains visible from the hilt to the tip. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit remains nice and tight! This blade rates an Exc+/Exc++. It has age spotting/grey throughout along with the common surface scratches/runner marks. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard on this one looks great. The original factory lacquer that remains is just awesome! A nice brown finish too. There is the slightest pressure mark to the obverse. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings look good. The ball has a 7mm small split to its seam, yet continues to hold a fine round shape. All four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit shows grease where it has been together forever. The fit is a perfect fit! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "BO" (Bayerische Ostmark). The brown hardwood grip looks excellent. It shows the typical pressure marks yet looks beautiful! The solid nickel eagle has a perfect fit and retains great detail! The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 70%+ of its enamel. A solid piece!
