A Gorget Model 1936 SS Streifendienst
Half moon-shaped, polished nickel-plated shield, applied medallion with SS runes on a black base, beneath which is a gilt bandeau "Streifendienst" in large block letters and gilt decorative buttons in each corner. Reverse covered in dark blue wool with two chain clasps and arresting tang stamped "SS (circle), 140 (circle), RZM (circle)". Complete with nickel-plated chain for wear. A very rare gorget for the patrol force, raised in 1934/35, and supporting detachments who assumed cordoning and organizational functions at major events like Reich Party Day, Führer visits and the Olympic Games. Minor chipping to black field behind runes.
