A 1939 German Eagle Order 3rd Class with Swords by Godet & Co. in its Original Case of Issue. Multi-piece construction; maltesian cross in gilded silver and white enamel; with four national eagles (Hoheitszeichen) between the arms of the cross; applied gilt swords; stamped on suspension ring "900" "21"; top of suspension eyelet stamped "9"; ribbon with horizontal pinback sewn on the reverse; measuring approximately H 45.4 mm x W 45.2 mm; weighing 25.4 grams; original case of issue; constructed of heavy cardboard stock covered with a red leatherette exterior; embossed with a golden national eagle on the outside lid with a golden line on all four edges of the top lid; interior of the lid lined in off-white silk; embossed "Verdienstkreuz III. Stufe des Ordens vom Deutschen Adler mit Schwerten" in golden lettering on the inside of the lid; with a black velvet recessed medal bed; functional clasp for opening and closing; intact interior hinge cover; functional exterior metal hinge; extremely fine condition; measuring approximately 125 mm x 70 mm.
