Multi-piece construction; Star in silver, center appliqu� maltesian cross in silver gilt and white enamel; with four national eagles (Hoheitszeichen) between the arms of the cross; applied gilt swords; reverse with two rivets; marked on pin “900” “21”; measuring approximately 75.7mm x 65.6 mm, weighing 54.2g; original case of issue; constructed of heavy cardboard stock covered with a red leatherette exterior; embossed with a golden national eagle on the outside lid with a golden line on all four edges of the top lid; interior of the lid lined in off-white silk; embossed “Stern des Deutschonen Adlerordens mit Schwertern” in golden lettering on the inside of the lid; with a black velvet recessed medal bed; functional clasp for opening and closing; intact interior hinge cover; functional exterior metal hinge; extremely fine condition; measuring approximately 135mm x 135mm.
