Here we have a Wassersport flagge (1936-45)! The Water Sports Flag was introduced on April 6th 1936 and were used on privately owned civilian vessels and non-commercial sports fishing boats during water sports, regattas and boating activities. It is constructed out of a red cotton base with black and white print. The rectangular shaped obverse features an off-centered black mobile swastika above a white roundel and a black and white bordered anchor. The reverse shows a mirror image of the obverse. The hoist end has a white cotton stitched on re-enforcing end that has a white/blue cotton rope going through it and is looped to the top end and has a loose 11 inch string coming out the bottom. The fly end has been folded over and stitched together. The two fly corners have re-enforced 45 degree stitching. There are many large holes and tears throughout. It measures approximately 34 inches long by 21 inches tall. A neat piece!
