This example has been field camo’ed, when? Who knows so I’ll err on the safe side and say it’s been done recently. The shell is constructed out of a stamped piece of steel sheet metal that has been camo textured painted. The shell has a folded over edge, and the air vents are embossed. Three split rivets secure the M31 liner. The interior has a steel liner with two square rings. The interior liner is made of tan brown leather and is also sized “57”. It remains intact with its original draw string and chin strap all fingers are intact with some chaffing to the edges. It has minor wear. The steel buckle continues to work well. The helmet is serial marked to the back “N52” and is also maker marked and sized “Q64”, both are very hard to read so forgive me if I read them wrong. The exterior is in excellent shape showing wear but no dents. Chin strap is numbered. A fine example that looks great!
