A fine looking piece! The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched "Blut und Ehre!" motto remains visible and the "PUMA Solingen" / "Ges. Geschützt" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is tightly secured. The blade rates an Exc/Exc+. It has surface scratches and age grey/staining/spoitting throughout. The leather buffer pad is a post-war replacement. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks good. There is oxidization spotting throughout. It holds a nice dark finish and remains completely dent free. The scabbard leather is age crazed yet still looks good. All of its steel rivets are intact and the oxidized button continues to work well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95%+ of its plated finish. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in near perfect shape and are tightly secured by two solid nickel-silver rivets. The HJ diamond retains 95%+ of its enamel. A solid early mottoed piece.
