Here's one by the most populous maker Ernst Pack & Sohn! The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "E. P. & S. Solingen" maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible all the way from the hilt to the tip. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates an easy Exc++. It shows the common age greying throughout along with the typical runner marks. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks wonderful! It retains a beautiful brown finish and retains 90% of its original factory lacquer! It remains completely dent free! The solid nickel scabbard fittings show typical age wear, yet have that present patina that matches the crossguards perfectly. The ball has one wee bruise yet retains a nice round shape and all four screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Nm" (Nordmark). The brown hardwood grip looks as though someone has used it as a hammer at some point. It shows heavy pressure marks throughout along with two small cracks. The solid nickel eagle has been pushed in yet shows nice detail and matching patina. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A perfectly patinaed piece!
