Here's a quality SA maker that still is in the blade industry today!. The blade on this one rates NM! The crossgrain runs the full length of the blade and is stunning against the light! The dark acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and Aesculap maker mark are beautifully executed. The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit is nice and tight! A beautiful blade! It has a few minor spots throughout. The brown anodized scabbard looks great. It has that copper color that is hard to photo unless you hold it just so in the light. The scabbard body has 99% of it's anodizing with one hit up 2" from the dower scabbard fitting reverse. The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in excellent condition! The lower has a few bruises and the ball remains perfectly round. The scabbard / crossguard fit is excellent. The solid nickel crossguards are in near perfect condition. The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped "Sw" (Sudwest). The grip / crossguard fits are perfect! The lacquered brown hardwood grip is lightly worn with scratches and one small bump to the reverse. It has that distinctive look so many Aesculap's have. It has normal period wear with small bumps and hit but no flaking cracks or splits. The solid nickel eagle is nicely detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 80% of its enamel! A super blade on this piece!
