Bronze Horse Driver Badge by Chr. Lauer
Here we have a 3rd Class Bronze Horse Driver Badge (Deutsches Fahrer-Abzeichen) by L. Chr. Lauer Nurnberg, Berlin. The bronze, third class grade was awarded for successes in trotting competitions. The oval shaped obverse features a man driving a chariot pulled by two horses encircled by an oak leaf wreath with an encircled “R” (Reiter - Rider) to the bottom. The hollow back reverse is maker marked: “L. Chr. Lauer, Nürnberg” and “Gesetzlich Geschützt”. It also shows a soldered on round wire catch, soldered on black hinge and flat wire pin. All of which are in well working condition. It measures approximately1 5/8 inches wide by 2 inches tall. A nice one!
