A quality Weimar Period 1. Klasse Schlesischer Adler! This was awarded for fighting the Silesian Uprisings as part of the Freikorps Oberland. It is a multi-piece die struck tombak base that has been chemically blackened and silver washed. The obverse features a blackened Silesian Eagle behind a separate horizontally placed crescent moon with vertical Christian cross superimposed on its breast, and clutching, in its talons, a separate arching bannered: "Für Schlesien" (For Silesia). The hollow back reverse shows four small prongs and a soldered on barrel hinge, soldered on round wire catch and round wire pin. All of the components are non-magnetic and in well working condition. A nice finish with wonderful detail! It measures approximately 1 ¾ inches tall by 1 ¼ inches wide. A great Weimar piece to add to your collection!
