It's always a moment of trepidation to put the blade out. Especially when the exterior looks like this dirty girl! What a treat to find a rare maker like this one rating a 9 of the McSaar! Blade is very bright with some age towards the tip. The blade has a ton of crossgrain. It rates conservatively Exc/Exc+. Scabbard body is anodized with no dents. The fittings show light period wear and the ball is near perfect. The body itself shows age and pitting. Deep red hardwood handle displays honest wear. There are no chips or cracks. Eagle is perfectly fit and roundel has all its enamel. The handle shoulders and radii nicely fit the solid nickel guards. The crossguard is stamped "Wf". Blade is perfectly set into the crossguard. All the patina matches everywhere. All the fits are all there, this is a virgin that has never been apart and don't you be the first, that would be a sin! You will be well pleased with this one!
