Many of us have come across Holler marked pieces yet this is Hollers earliest maker mark (1933-1935) and is quite rare! It rates 9 out of 10 for rarity! The bright blade on this one looks good! The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "F. W. H?ller Solingen" maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible from hilt to tip. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates Exc+/Exc++. It shows the commonly seen age spotting/grey and surface scratches throughout. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks great! It continues to remain completely dent free and hold a nice brown finish to it. It shows oxidization spotting and surface scratches throughout. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great matching the crossguards perfectly. The ball has a split to it yet it retains a round shape. All four screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "He" (Hessen). The brown hardwood grip looks beautiful. No cracks, chips or flakes! Just the common pressure marks throughout. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A great piece you will be happy with!
