The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "Carl Bender Solingen" maker mark are both beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible all the way from the hilt to the tip. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates Exc+. It shows heavy age grey, spotting and surface scratches throughout. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks great! It only shows minor age spotting and scratches throughout. It continues to remain completely dent free. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look excellent matching the crossguards quite nicely! The ball has several hits and the seam has a hairline opening to the very bottom. It retains an overall round shape. All four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Ho" (Hochland - far right). The brown hardwood grip looks wonderful! Just the common pressure marks throughout but no cracks, chips or flakes! The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA also has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A good one!
