A rare maker mark on this one! This one rates 9 out of 10 for rarity on McSaar's SA rarity ratting! The blade on this one looks excellent! The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "Thomas Wielputz Solingen-Hohscheid Gegr. 1880." maker mark are both beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible all the way from the hilt to the tip. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates Exc++. It shows the commonly seen age spotting and surface scratches throughout. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks excellent as well! It only shows minor age spotting/spidering throughout. It continues to remain completely dent free and retains 90% of its original factory laquer! The solid nickel scabbard fittings have nicely patinaed with time matching the crossguards quite nicely! The ball continues to remain perfectly round and all four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Nm" (Nordmark). The brown hardwood grip looks good. It shows several pressure marks throughout along with some small chips and flakes. The solid nickel eagle nicely matches the rest of the dagger in color and patina. It also retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has nice patina as well and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A quality rarer example!
