A nice and bright Imperial Prussian Army Belt Buckle! The rectangular shaped buckle is constructed out of a die struck steel base that has been grey painted. The obverse roundel depicts the Imperial king's crown on a smooth round background. The crown is above a half laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is below the Heer motto reading: "Gott Mit Uns" (God with us). The wreath and motto are both in front of a decorative lined type pattern which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a smooth rectangular backing. The steel prongs and soldered on steel catch remain in excellent condition. The buckle shows typical age wear throughout. It measures approximately 2 1/2 inch wide by 2 inches high. A fine piece!
