Franco-Prussian War Service Medal

Here we have an 1870/1871 medal for the Franco-Prussian War service. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been bronze washed. The obverse shows the crowned Royal cypher of William I over the inscription "Dem siegreichen Heere" (To the victorious army) surrounded by "Gott war mit uns, Ihm sei die Ehre" (God was with us, to Him be the glory). The reverse shows an imperial cross with rays between the four arms and "1870 1871" to the center, surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath. The edge reads "Aus Erobertem Geschuetz" (From Conquered Cannon), I missed that in the photos but it's there. No ribbon. A solid piece!
