A good piece a good price. The blade on this one looks fine. The "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "Max Weyersberg" maker mark remain looking good. The fit is nice and tight. The blade rates VG/Exc. Someone has likely tried to clean it to remove the age greying at some point leaving scratches. It has also been lightly sharpened. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard is looks good. There is minor oxidization spotting throughout along with one minor pressure mark to the obverse. It continues to hold a nice anodized finish. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great. The ball has a bump yet it retains a nice round shape. All four screws continue to remain intact. The solid nickel crossguards match the scabbard fittings quite nicely in age wear and color! The reverse of the lower crossguard is stamped "P" (Pommern). The dark brown hardwood grip is in nice shape. It minor chips and two cracks to the back along with the odd pressure marks throughout. The solid nickel eagle has excellent detail and a perfect fit. The SA roundel retains 95% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! A nice example at a fair price!
