WWI M1915 French Army Infantry Side Cap

Well made side cap with machine embroidered unit insignia. The medal on the side has a damaged ribbon and is loose, the cap iself is NM. The hat was used by American Legion group called 40/8. That is their organizational medal on the side. They used the french hat and had it embroidered. The 40/8 comes from the writing on the railroad cars they were sent to the front in: "Capacity: 40 men or 8 horses" in french.
