SS Pith Helmet Shield by JFS

A rare piece! It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been silver washed and black painted. The shield shaped obverse features two black "SS" runes above a silvered backing. The reverse shows two out of three crimped steel prongs and is maker marked "J.F.S. 42" (Josef Felix Sohn, Gablonz am N. 1942). Nice crisp pebbling and silver/black paint work! It measures 1 3/8 inches wide by 1 5/8 inches tall. A great piece!
