Here we have a beautiful, professionally cleaned Early SA Dagger! The bright blade on this one looks excellent! The crisp, acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "C. Gustav Spitzer Solingen" maker mark are both beautifully executed! The crossgrain is very nice and can be seen the full length of the blade. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates an Exc++. It has been lightly cleaned and shows minor age greying throughout. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard body looks excellent! It shows the odd mark/scratch yet retains a wonderful finish and continues to remain completely dent free! The cleaned solid nickel scabbard fittings look great with minor evidence of period wear. They match the crossguards quite nicely. The ball has the odd wee bump yet retains a round shape. All four screws continue to remain intact. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau marked "Ns" (Niedersachsen). The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The brown grained wood grip looks good. There are a few cracks that are visible near the eagle and one chip to the top-left edge. It also shows the common pressure marks throughout. The solid nickel eagle is beautiful detailed and has a perfect fit! The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel! A nice clean piece!
