It's tough to find transitional examples and here's one right from the Vet's family! The blade on this one rates Exc/Exc+. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and double "RZM M7/30" "Gebr. Gräfrath, Solingen" maker marks are beautifully executed! The tip comes to a sharp point and fit is nice and tight! There is heavy age grey and surface scratches throughout. It also appears to have been lightly cleaned and there are some rough spots to the cutting edges. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard shows minor age spidering throughout. It retains about 70% of its original paint and remains completely dent free! The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard fittings look great. They show the common spotting dots throughout and retain about 90% plating. The ball has a few hits to the bottom yet its holds a round shape. All four screws remain intact. Someone has soldered the ring together. The scabbard/crossguard fit is near perfect! The alloy based, nickel-silver plated crossguards show plating thinning/loss throughout yet retain about 90% plating. The brown hardwood grip has several cracks, flakes and pressure marks. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed! The SA roundel retains 95% of its enamel and has a perfect fit!
