Diplomatic Corps Wreath and Cockade

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

Wow try and find another one of these! The wreath is made out of a piece of die stamped tombak that has been silver washed. The cockade is made out of two piece of die stamped aluminum with a red felt plug and the back piece has been black enamel painted. The obverse features a centrally placed national tri-color (red, white and black) cockade surrounded by a pebbled half oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The reverse shows a hollow back with all four soldered tombak prongs and two aluminum prongs. I always like when there are tombak/aluminum prongs as it is that much easier to attach to a visor. The cockade is marked "GB 39" (Gustav Bremer, 1939). The silver wash remains in beautiful condition! A rare and prized piece!
