Here we have an earlier type company grade (lieutenants and captains) officer samurai sword tassel. It is constructed out of blue and brown chord. The tassel consists of a flat string, a braided brown slide with blue edge trim, a knot and two open ended twisted tails. Some of the twisted strings are lost and there is some minor fraying throughout. A good piece to accompany your sword!
