1939 War Merit Medal

Here we have a 1939 War Merit Medal. The round award is made of a die struck, tombak base that has been bronze washed. The obverse depicts a centrally placed embossed 2nd class war merit without swords. The reverse reads: "fur kriegs verdien 1939” (for outstanding services in war 1939). The red, white and black ribbon is folded and stitched together. It is approximately 5 inches long. Nice bronze wash remains!
