Wow what a piece! Just look at the detail work that went into this! Stunning! It is both machine and hand made with multiple pieces of cloth. It consists of gold bullion, cotton and rayon material. The one side clearly displays a centrally placed, hand stitched, gold bullion Kreigsmarine eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika in it talons. The eagle is on a blue cotton field which also has a decorative single line, twisted, gold bullion border to the exterior with knotted corners. The other side of the banner displays the Navy National War Flag. It consists of a centrally placed black mobile swastika on a white roundel, with four white and black lines running out of it. There is also a black and white and black Iron Cross to the top right. All of which lies on a red rayon field. To both sides of perimeter is a beautiful decorative golden lining and a gold fringe (to the three ends). The hoist end retains all four of its original black cotton strings, making it that much easier to display! It is truly difficult to find these still intact on these! It shows the common age toning and a thread few catches. It retains beautiful color, detail work and true quality craftsmanship! There are no holes or mothing. It measures approximately 18 1/2 inches square. This banner is a perfect display size and one that should be at the center of your collection! I love it so much I have it displayed right over my desk! Please do not buy this!
