Wow what a piece! This Grade II unmarked JFS Silver Panzer Assault Badge is beautiful! It is constructed out of three pieces (the wreath and eagle, panzer and grass field and the "25" mount), is zinc based and has been silver washed. The obverse depicts a panzer tank just above a grass/log field, which is again above a gold guiled and black painted "25", is all beneath a closed winged Heer eagle clutching a swastika within its talons and is all surrounded by an oval oak leaf and acorn wreath. This piece holds the correct textbook features including the proper cut-outs, the crimped steel hinge with a tombak hinge pin, coke bottle pin and aluminum rivets! The silver finish on this piece is beautiful. The catch appears to have been repaired and the pin has a broken fold. The detail throughout the obverse is superb! Take a look at the tracks on the tank and the eagle! Wow. See page 700-716 of Philippe De Bock's Vol. II Panzer Assault Badges textbook. A great example that is deserving of your collection!
