General Assault Badge by Karneth

Here we have a zinc based, die struck, silver washed General Assault Badge by Karneth. The obverse shows a closed winged eagle, clutching a swastika within its talons, above a crossed model 24 grenade and K98 bayonet. This is then all surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath. The reverse shows a semi-hollow back with a round wire crimped catch and a crimped/soldered ball hinge. The pin is missing. It retains beautiful detail! See page 118 of "German Awards of WWII" by Heukemes. Nice!
