A great piece with a great blade! The bright blade on this one looks great! The dark and crisp acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and ?E. Knecht & Co Solingen? maker mark are nicely executed! The crossgrain looks stunning as you shine it in the light. The fit and tip are both perfect. The blade rates an Exc++/NM. There is minor spotting and age grey throughout. The brown anodized scabbard looks good and retains 40% of its original lacquer! It has oxidization spotting and remaining completely dent free! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great! It continues to retain all four screws. The ball remains completely round. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Wm" (Westmark). The stamp is on a 45 degree angle, just proof that Germans had Monday's too! The crossguards and scabbard fittings match in color and wear! The dark brown hardwood grip looks great, with a soft matte finish! It shows a hairline crack above the roundel and to the back. The grip / crossguard fits are perfect! The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 98% of its enamel! This piece also comes with a well working hanger! A great example with a great blade!
