M-880 German Cross in Gold by Ottlo Klein & Co. Good example put of an advanced Canadian collection. This one is textbook in every aspect including the deeply stamped maker mark "134" to the reverse. This multi layered design is a pleasure to look at. Certainly many times more complex to manufacture than a knights cross. The whole thing is assmbled with German precision with four doughnut shaped rivets. The only wear I can find is to the tips of the black rays where you can see a wee bit of tombac coming through. Perfect enamel work. Comes with a cert. from Bill Shea. As well as a reproduction case for display. Overall NM $3997
M-464 Cased Iron Cross 1st Class Beauty example of a 1st class award. Paint is 99.9% with light age. Excellent detail due to construction and the details I believe this is by Souval. Mulipiece textbook construction with magnetic core. Case is undamaged and clasp functions fine. Overall Exc++ $490
M-354 Cased Iron Cross 1st Class Good example of a 1st class award. Paint is 97% with light age, some crazing and some dots missing. Excellent detail. Mulipiece textbook construction with magnetic core. Case is LDO marked minty with just some small scuffs on the bottom. Overall Exc++ $485

M-316 Iron Cross 1st Class by unknown maker Good example of a 1st class award. Pin is stamped with marks toward the tip, No scratches but I can not make them out, if you know the maker pls let me know. Paint shows some wear to the swas. but that's it. This could use a cleaning as there is some dirt in the corners but I leave that to you. Beautiful black patina. Excellent detail. Mulipiece textbook construction with magnetic core. Overall Exc+ $275

Interesting cross! This one has 96% paint with a scratch on either side. I'm soooooo tempted to touch this with some blackening but I refuse to! If you want to that's up to you. 11" of original ribbon. Factory issue packet is maker marked and comes with issue tissue. The ring is unmarked. Three piece construction with magnetic core. Really nice example and very tough to find one this good in this market. This one has 100% paint with wonderful frosting, shoot look even the ring has frosting!! 11" of original ribbon. I suspect that the finish has been blued by an enterprising individual so a paint job would help, perfect piece for restoration. It's real. Here's something just a bit different! This is a early quality brass WMC that is mounted to a salesman's carry case. The ribbon is faded somewhat. The case is of cardboard/leatherette construction. The inside flocking is of a royal blue velvet. The whole thing folds up and closes with a brass snap. Neat! Exc+

M-789 Close Combat Clasp in Silver by FLL Nicely vaulted later example by FLL. Textbook example is exactly as it should be. The deep "moat" surrounding the hinge and the thin round wire catch are the identifying features of this variant. Like many producers later on, FLL switched to crimping their hardware in an effort to simplify and expedite production. Approx 33.5g. The silver wash has mostly gone leaving a dull matte gray. The backplate catch and hinge pin are magnetic. BTW, lastly see how the pin is slightly bent down about 1/2" from the hinge. This is factory done and not damage. Correctly maker marked. Exc+ $400(ch)

Well this is the badge that everyone wants. Nice early example in tombac. It weighs 41.0g and is all nonmagnetic. Look at the finish!! I love these with the sparkle to the hilights!! You guys who know these things know exactly what I mean. The eagle has fine details and has been correctly assembled to the backing with 2 rivets. The hinge is right. The catch does not hook tightly and may require a bit of adjustment. This is a textbook example. The case shows some light wear NM

M-842 Pilot Observer Badge by Junkers
This is an early example. It weighs 30.1g and is all tombac. The detail of the eagle's wings is wonderful, truly he more you look the more you see!! It has been correctly assembled to the wreath with two rivets. The catch was replaced by the previous owner and the Jeweler cleaned the slag off the back causing the scratches and brightness you see . At the same time the heat from soldering caused some minor discoloration. In time this will all tone down. As you see from my photos I have made every effort to show you the details. At this resolution every piece of lint looks like a crater! Other than the restoration, this is textbook, the rivets with those flat heads, the hinge and the way the pin is cut off and assembled- Junkers! If you can forgive the repair you have a real nice badge at a fraction of what the big guys are asking!! Exc+

The catch is the soldered wire in a "C" shape. Nice silver wash to the wreath with honest wear to the highlights while maintaining some of the sparkle that us collectors so love to see! Desirable tombac construction this thing is a textbook example and exactly what you want to see on a Schwerin. Correct # of windows. Nice darkening to the battleship and the fire gilding is in excellent shape. There is some wear to the high areas of this badge but not bad. The reverse has the correct block hinge and the Schwerin hook with the charachteristic lift to the tail of the pin. Weighs in at 33.06gr. Exc+/Exc++

Desirable tombac construction this is a 2 piece badge with single rivet construction. The hinge is a sheet metal variant and the way the pin is bent over has lead many to agree this variant is made by F&B. Nice finish I would say 99% to the gold wash. Weighs in at 26.55gr. Exc++

Desirable variant of a tough badge to find! Baqueville located in Paris but a nice job on these Navy badges. Very unique and tough to copy. Look at the finish that remains to this one! This is the best Baqueville Auxiliary Cruiser I've come across! The reverse is correct in every aspect. The upper hook is intact and the hinge is the exact one we see in Tuckers reference, pg387, except, well, this is in better shape than his!! :> Weighs in at 26.95gr. Exc++

Minesweeper in early tombac with good details. This badge has a nice white/silver plume and deep blue water. The wreath too has good gold finish. Weighs in at 25.24gr. The block hinge is correct for this period. This is not magnetic in any way, It's textbook and matches Tuckers ref. Exc++

Very tough to find a Minesweeper in zinc with such good details. This badge by Souval has a nice white/silver plume and deep blue water. The wreath too has good gold finish. Weighs in at 28.67gr. The hinge is of sheet metal construction. The reverse usually features R.S. standing proud, this one you can only see the "R" so the die was likely dirty or clogged. The magnetic oversize pin is typical of those we see by this maker. Exc

Desirable variant of a tough badge to find! Tough to find and even tougher to find in good condition. I love the amount of silvering remaining to the boat! look at the details to the waves! The wreath retains traces of gilt. The reverse is correct in every aspect to include the tell tale die flaws. The upper hook is intact and the hinge is the exact one we see in Tuckers reference, pg 311. Weighs in at 25.4gr. Exc+

Cool Art Deco badge. This tombac example shows wear and is exactly as you would expect to find a real one! The eagle retails good white wash with even wear to the high areas. Yes the port holes are all correct in placement and number. Most of the gray wash is intact . The pin is correct with the little rise at the tail end. M-860 Coastal Artillery by Friedrich Linden
Good fire gilt remains to this FLL badge with just wear to the high areas. Gun shows good detail. As often seen with these badges the back has been hammered concave to create a "vaulted" look. A similar example can be seen on pg 402 of Tucker's reference. This one has had similar treatment. For those of you checking me against the textbooks this one does have the typical raised "43" below the "FLL" maker mark to the reverse. It has been partly defomed by the hammering but it's there. The magnetic pin is correct as is the sheet metal hinge. Has a wire catch that we sometimes see on these. Weighs in at 31.9gr. Exc+/Exc++

M-858 Coastal Artillery by Baqueville Good French made example that is completely textbook. It's got good finish with just some honest wear to the high areas. Gun shows good detail. A similar example can be seen on pg 415 of Tucker's reference. This one matches the book to include color of finish, die flaws to the reverse and the pin/hinge and catch set-up. The hook on the top is broke off. Weighs in at 22.1gr. Exc+

M-876 2nd Pattern Blood Order The most covetted of all NSDAP awards. This example is in near mint condition and numbered 3405. I have no research on the recipient. This example is in 800 silver with beautiful patina. This is a textbook example which is correctly marked with silver content and is considered to be a type 2 award. The correct suspension ring is intact. Originally purchased from Craig Gottlieb last year. The purchaser added a post war ribbon and case for display purposes which I will include. Weighs 22.54gr NM

M-667 Awesome 9 Place Medal Bar by Godet
Wow! A very impressive bar with an interesting combination. Marked to the reverse by Godet the Bar is vaulted, as most of these large bars are, to better fit the chest. Starting from the left we have: Imperial EKII, War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords, Hindenberg War Merit, Police 18 year Long Service, 15 year NSDAP Long Service, 10 Year NSDAP Long Service, Social Welfare in enamel, Entry to Austria and lastly Entry to Sudentenland. GOR-5 Feldgendarmerie Police Gorget
These are the best centerpieces for collections. Truly they speak to the period. Designated for Field Police this has luminescent paint,(yup, glows in the dark!) in great shape. Correct pebbled buttons and very good plating with minor scratches. Just enough wear so you know it's real!! Reverse has the 2 clips and is the cardboard type backing often seen. They also put a small sticker to the reverse, this came out of an old collection so likely was the old time collector, remove it if you wish. Some blue shoe polish would do wonders here.
