BB-266 Cool Droop wing DLV with Tab and
matching belt and a story!
Good heavy nickel buckle with
a pebbled background. Light wear. Check out the tab. "R.
Sieper & Sohn Lüdenscheid 1936". It's also what looks like a
field strike "5.Baür." and something else I can't make out. The back of the
tab is stamped "L.B.A.". This exactly matches the belt stamp, the 31"
belt is also maker marked "Eugen Huber 1935 München". Now what gets
real interesting is that the belt was issue stamped in 1936 to
a Flyer's school! "FLIEUERSCHULE OLDENBURG 1936", (BTW that's how I
know this is a DLV not Luftshutz). Lastly over the impressed stamp there is
an ink stamp that I think is dated 1940. Perhaps this was
reissued? Regardless, this is a very cool rig. The belt has been shortened
some time in the past. I guess the guy who originally owned
it lost a lot of weight? A nice early RLB set-up that tells a
story! Exc+
