Swords
SS and Police
 SW-113 Unit Marked SS
NCO Degan Here's a very good example out of an old
collection. The blade rates Exc++ having just the mildest of age
about the riccasso. There is no damage and the tip is quite
original. The blade is not maker marked however it is unit
marked "1/SSG 19". The original buffer is intact. The black enamel
painted scabbard has some dents towards the tip. There is also paint
loss and some oxidizing down from the hanger fitting. It has
age crazing and the paint is 94%. The plated fittings on this whole
sword show even patina and good finish.. The upper fitting is shows
some burnish to the background and is SS proofed. It is also marked
with a matching unit mark same as the blade. It's secured by 2 unbuggered
domehead screws. Nice undamaged grip with the correct number of
rings. The D-guard has nicely patinaed with a dull matte
finish. There is some plating loss to the hilt but overall the whole
thing is matching in wear and age. Finally the pommel nut has the correct
cast runed in place, It appears to be unturned. Exc+ $1995
 SW-99 Krebs Police
Officer Degan Here's a very
nice example out of an old collection. The blade rates Exc++ having
just the mildest of age. There is no damage and
the tip is quite original. The blade is marked with the Krebs
lobster logo so many like to see. It looks to me like the buffer
is a replacement. The black enamel painted scabbard is dent free. It has
age crazing but the paint is 99%. The plated fittings on this whole
sword show even patina and very good finish.. The upper fitting is nicely burnished to
the background and is SS proofed. It's secured by 2 unbuggered domehead
screws. The lower is an early "slip fit" type. Nice undamaged grip
with the correct number of rings and original wire wrap. The copper
officer eagle is correctly inlaid. The d-guard is nicely finished with
a drilled mark to the end of
the quillion. The underside of the hilt
is SS marked. There is some plating loss to the
hilt but overall the whole thing is matching in wear and age. Finally the
pommel nut is unbuggered. Exc+/Exc++ $1295 HOLD(alek)
 SW-116 C&J Police NCO
Degan The double marked blade rates Exc++ having no
major problems. There is the odd scuff but really that's it. No gray or
age or sharpening. The tip is quite original. The blade is marked
with the Clemen & Jung Shield logo to the obverse and the name
written out in full to the reverse above Solingen. The black
buffer IMHO is a replacement. The black enamel painted scabbard has some
small dents towards the tip. I would say better than 98% of the paint is
intact. The upper fitting is nicely detailed. It's secured
by 2 unbuggered domehead screws. The grip is unchipped and completely
damage-free sporting a inlaid police insignia. The ferrel is
well detailed and aged to a nice blue hue. A good
example. Exc+ $1125
 SW-114 Interesting WKC Police NCO
Degan Here's a
very interesting example out of the woodwork. The blade rates Exc/Exc+ having minor
age gray and several small nicks to the cutting edge.
Yup, exactly what happenes when the Vet's kids get playing with these
things. The tip is quite original. The blade is marked with the WKC logo to the obverse above the
firms name. Now if you look at the reverse you will see
a huge set of runes stamped. This is the way
WKC choose to SS proof their degans, see Wittmann's SS bible pg 489. The original brown leather
buffer pad is lost to time. No, the scabbard or the hilt are
not SS proofed and if they were it would be evidence this was messed
with. No WKC product was proofed this way. They only proofed with
the runes on the blade. The black enamel painted scabbard is dent free. It
has age crazing and some oxidizing.
I would say better than 95% of the paint is intact. The upper fitting
is nicely burnished to the background. It's secured
by 2 unbuggered domehead screws. The grip is unchipped
and completely damage-free sporting a inlaid police insignia. The cast ferrel is well
detailed and burnished being completely damage free. A wonderful and completely correct
example. Exc+ $835

 SW-109 Gilt Paul Weyersberg Dovehead
Engraved & Personalized Here is a top quality piece
that is perfect for the collector who demands the best. Illustrated on pg
130 of Angolia's reference it does vary slightly in that this one is
way better!! The purchaser opted for an extra cost etch, again this can
be seen on pg 41. The plated blade rates Mint- being bright
and clean with no plating loss. The frosted background to the etch is
perfect. Everything is crisp and perfectly executed. The blade is etched
with the double oval maker mark. The black enamel painted scabbard is
dent-free. It has good paint with several minor scratches, say the
paint is better than 97%. I love the hilt!! This is a solid brass
example with hand enhanced details exhibiting outstanding detail and
workmanship. Look at the eagles wings! Look at the dots that are hand
hammered all over the backstrap and obverse of the languet!! Best of all
the reverse is Jeweler engraved "GS". Take a second and see the wee lines
inside the letters? You never find this kind of detail on anything made
today!! The "P" guard has deeply cast acorns and oak leaves, with
again hand-work. The back-strap continues this theme. The obverse languet
features a raised-out long-winged political-style eagle. The grip is black
celluloid and is in perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped
with triple brass wire, the center of which is the springy
type. A beauty design with a ton of factory gilt and expensive period
options! Exc++ $2470
SW-100 The Absolute Coolest Army Pattern
Ever made Höller 21 Höller made some near stuff and
this one was always a goal of mine. This is the first I've ever owned and
I'm hoping it does not sell fast! Pattern 21 is featured on pg 92 of
Angolia's Swords reference and the first pattern in the Höller section!
Made in the Art Deco style of the time the Nazi National Eagle clutching
the Swas. is HUGE!- like 3x the std size. See how the crossguard negates
the requirement for a ferrel? Neat. Cast in solid brass and exhibiting
outstanding detail and workmanship. The "P" guard has a 3d oak leaf
motif. The back-strap again is well detailed, the more you look the
more you see! The grip is black celluloid and is in perfect condition
being wrapped with triple brass wire wrap. The wire is a tight to the
perfect celluloid. The plain blade is bright and shiny, grading near mint
with a deep maker mark. The scabbard is undented. The black
paint shows age and crazing and rates 99%. A nice detailed sword at
way more than you would expect to pay!! :> but why go for the usual
when you can get the best!! Exc++ $2595
 SW-89 WKC
Dovehead Model 1056
Here's a rare pattern
that rarely hangs around dealer sites. The plated blade rates NM being bright and clean
right with no plating loss. The blade is stamped with the knight's head
above the WKC letters to the obverse. This pattern is illustrated
in Angolia's reference pg 136 and known
as Model 1056. The black enamel painted scabbard is dent-free. It has
good paint with the normal crazing and minor scratches and oxidation, say the paint is
better than 97%. This is a solid brass example with
hand enhanced details exhibiting outstanding detail and workmanship. The really neat thing about the sword is the
separately applied Wehrmacht style eagle on the crossguard. The eagle is
correctly pined in place. The "P" guard has finely detailed acorns and oak leaves. The
back-strap again is well detailed. The grip is black celluloid and
is in perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped
with triple brass wire. A rare desirable design! Exc++ $724 Layaway(js)
 SW-88 Gilt WKC Lionhead Model

plating loss. The blade is stamped with the knight's head above the WKC
letters. This pattern is illustrated in Angolia's reference pg
136 and known as Model 1016. The black enamel painted scabbard is

adorn the hilt. Almost has that art deco look. The "P" guard has finely
detailed acorns and oak leaves. The back-strap again is well detailed. The
obverse languet features a raised-out short-winged political-style eagle.
The grip is black celluloid and is in perfect shape without chips or
cracks. It is wrapped with triple brass wire, one of which is a bit
loose. A beauty design with a ton of factory
gilt! Exc++ $760 Layaway(gw)
 SW-108 "Roon" Pattern Dove-head by
Eickhorn Very interesting
pattern. The plated blade rates Mint- being bright and
clean. The blade is stamped with the mid-period Eickhorn maker mark.
This pattern is illustrated in Angolia's reference pg 80 and known as Model 1716. This
particular example features the optional Wehrmacht eagle. The Roon is intereesting cause
they were factory made plain and then
an optional pattern was added by hand at the
purchasers request. This is the only 3rd Reich sword that
I know of that could be ordered from the factory sans a Swastica.
You can sometimes find these with just oak-leaves on the languet. Interesting, I guess evidence that
net everyone in the Army was a political supporter of the Nazis. The black
enamel painted scabbard has a small impression that is near
impossible to picture and best found with your fingers. It has a good
repainted surface with a few odd chips, say the paint is better than
98%. This is a brass based example with some wear to the
high areas. The top of the hilt expertly covers the tang with hand
enhanced detail. The "P" guard has 4 large oak leafs. The obverse
languet features a closed-winged eagle. The grip is black celluloid
and is in perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped
with triple brass wire.. A good
example. Exc+/Exc++ $725
 SW-110 Eickhorn EM Dovehead with
Optional Etch Pattern Here is a top quality piece that
has an etch dedicated to a Calvary unit! Seems they leaned towards
the etched
versions of these swords. Illustrated on pg 75 of Angolia's
reference this one is known as pattern 189. The purchaser opted for an
extra cost etch, again this can be seen on pg 42. The plated
blade rates Mint- being bright and clean with no plating loss. The frosted
background to the etch is perfect. "Kavallerie Regt. Nr. 10 Torgau".
Everything is crisp and perfectly executed. The blade is etched with the
mid-period maker mark. The black enamel painted scabbard has some
small hits to the lower leading edge. It has good paint
with several minor scratches and some paint loss, say the paint is
better than 97%. The hilt is a nickel example with the
tang peaned over on the top. The entire hilt is plain as we usually
see on EM examples. The grip is black celluloid and is in perfect
shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped with triple aluminum
wire. Finishing the piece is an original portepee. A nice
example with a detailed etch. Exc++ $1550
SW-44 The Ultimate Dovehead by Herder!
Herder made some beautiful swords in the period, this one is one of
the most ornate! Nice original example in brass. A similar hilt
design is illustrated in the Angolia Sword Book on Page 85. The hilt is
burnished brass exhibiting outstanding detail and
workmanship. The "P" guard has finely detailed swirls. The back-strap
again is well detailed, the more you look the more you see! Contains a
gorgeous and ornate center panel design. The obverse languet features a
"raised-out open-winged eagle" exhibiting fine detail. The ferrule is
integrated into the hilt! The grip is black celluloid and is in perfect
condition being wrapped with double wire wrap. The wire is a tight to the
perfect celluloid. The plain blade is bright and shiny, grading near mint
with a deep black maker mark. The scabbard is dented the reverse being
worse than the obverse. The black paint shows age and crazing
and rates 97%. A nice detailed sword at a bargain price. Last one I saw
was offer at well over $3k!Exc+/Exc++ $1995
Eickhorn Field Marshall Series
Swords
 SW-106 Eickhorn "Defflinger" Pattern
Flat-bow by Eickhorn
Another example out of the highly successful Field Marshall series. The plated blade
rates Mint- being bright and clean right with no plating loss. Just nothing
at all the most fussy of you
could find. The blade is stamped with the mid period Eickhorn maker
mark. This pattern is illustrated in Angolia's reference pg 82 and known as Model 1735. The
black enamel painted scabbard is dent-free. It has excellent paint with just
a few minor scratches, the paint is better than
99%. The hilt is a brass based example with a nice gilded wash. Cool "Art
Deco" design. Look at the "P" guard it's a flat bow that became
popular towards the end of the 30's. The traditional oak-leaf motif has been replaced
with a more modern dot pattern. The obverse languet features
a raised-out closed-winged Army-style eagle. The back strap is
a neat geometric design. The grip is black celluloid and is in
perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped with triple
aluminum wire that really stands out against the black
celluloid.. A beauty design with good factory
gilt! Exc++ $782

SW-91 Eickhorn Prince Eugen Saber
Well I
never know if I should list these in the SS section or the Army. This
pattern was absolutely a favorite of SS officers. Nice plated blade rates Mint-. being
bright and clean throught out with no damage or age. Really I don't
even know why the minus other than I never rate anything Mint.
The blade is stamped with the mid-period Eickhorn mark. The factory red felt
buffer is intact. The black enamel painted scabbard is dent free
and has good paint with the normal crazing. This very distinctive
hilt is made of gilt aluminum, don't bother looking for a brass based
example cause they were never made in brass! Look at that evil looking
bird on the crossguard! The gilding has remained intact on about 90%
of the hilt in some places it has worn thin. The black celluloid over
wood grip retains all of its grip wire and the celluloid remains unchipped
or cracked. This example is illustrated in Angolia's reference pg
82/83. There is also another pic it there somewhere with an SS
guy with this one. The end of the crossguard terminates with a
swirl. Both the back-strap and the knuckle bow are ornately
decorated. Check out the pommel eagle!! Certainly one of the most
desirable of all Eickhorn Patterns. Exc++ $1695 HOLD(alex)
 SW-104 Eickhorn "Zieten" Pattern
Flat-bow by Eickhorn Here's a tough to find ornate design that
features much original gilt. The plated blade rates Exc++ being
bright and clean right with no plating loss. The only thing holding
this back a bit is a few nicks to the cutting edge. Small, but if you look
close you can find them. The blade is stamped with the mid period
Eickhorn maker mark. This pattern is illustrated in Angolia's
reference pg 81 and known as Model 1734. The black enamel painted
scabbard is dent-free. It has good paint with the normal crazing and minor
scratches, the paint is better than 99%. The hilt is an aluminum
based example with a nice gilded wash. Cool "Art Deco" head
design with glass eyes adorn the hilt. The head is huge. If this were
Imperial I would call this a "Grosser" size. Now look at the "P"
guard it's a flat bow that became popular towards the end of the
30's. The traditional oak-leaf motif has been replaced with a more
modern dot pattern. The obverse languet features a raised-out
closed-winged Army-style eagle. The grip is black celluloid and is in
perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped with triple
aluminum wire that really stands out against the black
celluloid.. A beauty design with good factory
gilt! Exc++ $815

 SW-107 "Wrangel" Pattern Dove-head by
Eickhorn Another pattern named after a famous German leader.
The plated blade rates Exc++ being bright and clean right with just a
few dots to the reverse about the maker mark. Other than that it's
fine. The blade is stamped with the mid period Eickhorn maker mark.
This pattern is illustrated in Angolia's reference pg 77 and
known as Model 1693. The black enamel painted scabbard is dent-free.
It has good paint with much crazing scratches and oxidation, say
the paint is better than 90%. There is a small impression midway on
the reverse. This is a brass based example with some wear to the high
areas. The top of the hilt expertly covers the tang with hand
enhanced detail to the huge oak-leaf that is cast there. The "P" guard has
an oak leaf and acorn motif. This pattern is continued everywhere
including the ferrel, backstrap and P-guard. The obverse languet
features a open-winged eagle. The grip is black celluloid and is in
perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped with triple
aluminum wire that really stands out against the black
celluloid.. A good
example. Exc+ $699
Navy
SW-93 Alcoso Navy with all the
Trimin's One of my goals at this years SOS was to find a nice
Navy sword. Took me 2 days but I finally found one tucked away. I love
this sword. Absolutely the best you could buy in the period this one has
all the extras collectors seek. Triple engraved high quality plated
blade rates Mint- being bright and clean right with no plating loss.
The etch pattern is really clear and dark featuring ships and sailing
motifs. The spine is etched with an oak leaf pattern. It's not washed out
or been cleaned to nothing like so many we see. The blade is stamped with
the early Alcoso scales logo dating this 1937-1939 era. Finally the buffer
is intact. The brass and leather scabbard sports assembly marked
fittings that are dent-free and maintain good gilt finish. The leather has
suffered two bends but it's still stiff and does not fall over limp
without the blade inserted. All the stitching is intact, all the staples
are too. The gilded solid brass fittings are all impressed with swirl
patterns reminiscent of waves. Lastly the locket folds over and
perfectly fits the pin on the upper fitting. It's not suffering the dried
out leather shrinkage like so many. The brass hilt is really well
detailed with oak leaves and in the middle of the central panel the
traditional fouled anchor. The back-strap again is well detailed,
the whole thing has really deep 3D pattern with wee hand-enhanced details.
Look at the lions whiskers, each has been added by hand. I so
love these small details. This sword had the glass red/green eyes
collectors seek. Finally the grip is a solid ivory beauty. It is
perfectly wrapped with tight brass wire wrap. Finally a beauty with
all the extras! NM $3595 HOLD(sn)
Land Customs
SW-103 WKC Pattern 1016 Land Customs
Saber Ok, I know what you guys are thinking.
How come everyone else calls this an SS sword? Well I believe that
some of these likely were used for the SS, The silver wash and green eyes
are exactly what the SS used. Call it what you want. Angolia calls it a
Land Customs so I will too! Here's an ornate design that is truly special the entire brass
based hilt is silver washed. The silver is worn off the high areas exposing the
brass based hilt, everywhere else the silver has patinaed to black. The plated blade rates Exc+/Exc++ being
bright and clean right with no plating loss. The blade is stamped with the WKC Knights
head maker mark but it's so far under the hilt that all I
could get from trying to photograph it was a sore neck
:> . This pattern is illustrated in Angolia's reference pg 267 and known
as Model 1016. The black enamel painted scabbard has 2 impressions. I have tried to angle
the scabbard in a way that you can see it. Very hard
as every other way it's invisible. but
you can feel these with you finger. It has good paint with
the normal crazing and minor scratches and oxidation, say the paint is better
than 98%. This is a solid brass example with hand enhanced details exhibiting outstanding
detail and workmanship. Wonderful head design with extra cost
optional evil green glass eyes adorn the hilt. The
"P" guard has deeply detailed acorns and oak leaves. The back-strap again
is well detailed with an unengraved monogram panel. The obverse languet
features a raised-out short-winged political-style eagle. The grip is
black celluloid and is in perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is
wrapped with triple brass wire. Included is a well worn, almost
broke portepee with a green dot. A beauty design missing from most
collections. Exc+/Exc++ $2580
Luftwaffe
SW-112 Early SMF Luftwaffe
Sword
Early example in solid nickel. This one has an
Exc++ blade. The etched maker mark is correctly executed just below a
waffen approval stamp. No sharpening, graying or pitting, there are a couple small nicks but nothing major,
You will have to run your nail the length of
the blade edge to find this. The
blade is seated through a pebbled blue leather washer into the
crossguard. The hilt fittings are all early silver washed
nickel with wonderful patina. The grip is double wire
wrapped in copper springy wire SMF used early in production. There are
no dents to the scabbard body or the nickel fittings however
there is evidence of bruises and marks from normal wear.
The leather is original with 100% coverage to both the grip and the
scabbard. Scabbard screws are all present. Finally look at how the patina
of the scabbard matches the hilt!! This has not been touched
in years!! Overall Exc++

SW-115 Late SMF Luftwaffe
Sword
Later example in aluminum. This one has an Exc/Exc+ blade. The
etched maker mark is correctly executed just below a waffen approval
stamp. No sharpening but the blade has gray, age and nicks to the
cutting edge that I have tried to show you the worse of. The blade
is seated through a pebbled blue leather washer
into the crossguard. The hilt fittings are all matte aluminum with
matching patina. I just appreciate so much that the handwork
continued on these things even at this late stage, look at the pommel
edges! The grip is double wire wrapped in aluminum springy wire SMF
used later in production. There are no dents to the scabbard body or
the fittings however there is evidence of bruises and marks from
normal wear. The leather is original with 98% coverage to both the grip
and the scabbard. The only loss I can see I show you.
Scabbard screws are all present. The hanger is intact but it
appears that the upper fitting cracked and was been repaired long
ago, in the period? Who knows, but is was long ago. This is a steal.

SW-117 Paul Weyersberg Luftwaffe
Sword
Very early example in solid nickel. This one
has a Exc++ blade. The etched maker mark is correctly executed just below the stickbird waffen approval stamp. No sharpening, graying or
pitting, there are a couple small scuffs to the mid
section and the very tip
suffers a wee bit of plating loss. Looking at period pics you often see these
guys resting the tip of the sword on the ground so loss
at the tip is something we often see. The blade is seated through a pebbled blue leather washer into the crossguard.
The hilt fittings are all early silver
washed nickel with lots of patina. These are the early
kind with the brass roundels inserted into the pommel
and crossguard. The pommel edges are of course hand enhances with oak
leaves. BTW, take a second an look at the side profile of the pommel.
See how the sides stick way out? That's a feature of these early swords.
The later the sword, the flatter these pommels are. The
late aluminum pommels are practically flat. Sorta like an B cup as compared to an A
cup. There, now everyone understands!! (Man, I gotta stop writing
descriptions late at nite!!) The grip is double wire wrapped
in copper springy wire Weyersberg used early in production. There are no
dents to the scabbard body or the nickel fittings however there is
evidence of bruises and marks from normal wear. The leather is original with
99% coverage to both the grip and the scabbard. The scabbard
shows evidence of touch-ups with some shoe wax hiding the scuffs and tiny
areas of leather loss at the seam. I have taken pains to show you the
worse possible views of the scabbard leather. Scabbard screws are
all present. A nice early Luft sword. Overall Exc+/Exc++
