SS and Police
 SW-178 SS Officer Honour Degan
Always a pleasure to handle, these degans are
rare and near impossible to find any more. These were authorized for wear
personally by Himmler and ownership required a certificate. Each
one was, upon being awarded, duly noted in the SS‑Diensltersliste and
became a part of the owners service record along with his other awards and
citations. This example is a Dachau
produced piece. The stainless steel blade unique to Dachau rates Exc++/NM being bright and
clean with the original matte finish. The blade is unmarked, really nice and of course it's
rust free! The buffer pad is intact. The scabbard is
dent free and painted in original thick black enamel. There are a few odd scuffs
and marks from light normal wear and one small spot that the paint has
been carefully touched up. The
scabbard shell and fitting are just slightly smaller and more elegant than
on standard police/SS degans. You would never notice except if you lay one
of these next to another. The lower fitting is the "slip‑fit" type. The
top being secured with 2 headless side screws and having non‑blackened
textured backgrounds-Textbook. Neither the top scabbard fitting or the D‑guard are
SS proofed‑textbook. If you ever do see one proofed run the other way! The
grip is composed of 13 ribbed sections being separated with original wire
wrap. The runes button is correct set in place being darkened to
the background, the grip is chip and crack -free. Note button
placement just after the fourth rib, exactly were it should be! The
ferrules are both separate pieces with no blackening to backgounds. All the
fittings are chrome plated and exactly what one would expect to find on a
textbook Dachau sword. This is a completely textbook SS Officer Degan
you will be proud to own and thousands less than what you would pay for a
similar early nickel example. Exc++ $7495 Layaway(cp)

SW-182 Early Pack
Dovehead
Solid plated blade rates a conservative Exc++ being bright and clean right with no
plating loss, gray or smudges. The very tip is a bit blunted, quite common
to see. If you look at period pics these guys are always setting to point
into the ground. The blade is etched with the early Pack maker marl nice
and black. This pattern is illustrated in Angolia's
reference pg 112. The black enamel painted scabbard is dent free but
does show wear to include chips and some scrapes. What is so cool about
this sword is the way it's all hand enhanced!! Look at all that work, you
just never see this on later pieces.
Cool! It's attention to detail like this that made Pack so famous for a
quality product. This very distinctive
hilt is all early brass. The outstretched eagle on the languet is all chiselled! The P-guard has extremely deep details and an
oak leaf right in the pommel. The black celluloid over wood grip retains all 3 of it's
grip wires that are nice and tight. The celluloid grip has some cracks at
the very top. Finally finishing this one is a nice portepee. Exc++

Eickhorn Field Marshall Series
Swords
 SW-125 "Wrangel" Pattern Dove-head by
Eickhorn Another pattern named after a famous German leader.
The plated blade rates Exc++ being bright and clean right with just a
few odd scuffs. Other than that it's fine. The blade is stamped
with the mid period Eickhorn maker mark. This pattern is illustrated
in Angolia's reference pg 77 and known as Model 1693. The black
enamel painted scabbard is dent-free. It has ok paint with much
crazing scratches and oxidation, say the paint is better than
85%. This is a brass based example with some wear to the high
areas. The top of the hilt expertly covers the tang with hand
enhanced detail to the huge oak-leaf that is cast there. The "P" guard has
an oak leaf and acorn motif. This pattern is continued everywhere
including the ferrule, back-strap and P-guard. The obverse languet
features a open-winged left facing eagle. The grip is black celluloid
and is in perfect shape without chips or cracks. It is wrapped
with triple aluminum wire that has a few missing strands. A
good example. Included is a beat portepee that is all frayed. This
sword came in with the portepee and that's how I'm selling it but have
included it for no extra. Exc+ $519
Luftwaffe

SW-180 SMF Luftwaffe
Sword
Here's a reasonably priced
example of a later Luft sword. This one has a Exc++ inspection marked
blade. The etched seated king
maker mark is correctly executed just below a waffen approval stamp. No sharpening or pitting
and all the edges are smooth. The leather buffer is intact. The hilt fittings
are all matte aluminum. The
grip is double wire wrapped in aluminum springy type wire that we
always see on later SMF examples.
There are a few odd scuffs to the leather as one would expect to see on an
original example. There are some small hits to the scabbard leather but
nothing that has dented the shell itself which maintains it's dent free
profile. Pommel is correctly hand enhanced with wee oak leaves and acorns.
The pommels maintain their factory gilt to the swas's. The leather
is original with 100% coverage to both the grip and the scabbard, yes
there are some odd scuffs but the leather is all there. All headless scabbard screws are
present. All the patina matches. Overall

Here's a nice
example of an aluminium Luft sword. This one has a Exc++ inspection marked
blade. The etched
maker mark is correctly executed just below a waffen approval stamp. No sharpening or pitting
and all the edges are smooth. Actually the very tip has some small
marks like maybe the tip was repointed but not bad. The blade is certainly
Exc++. The leather buffer is intact. The hilt fittings
are all matte aluminium. The
grip is double wire wrapped in aluminium springy type wire that we
always see on later examples.

SW-181 Japanese
Type 94 Army Officer
Sword
Here's a good example of a war
time officers sword. This one has a Exc+/Exc++ signed tang with a nice prominent
temper line. No sharpening
and just a bit of age the worse being towards the tip that I have not bothered to
try and clean.
Blade
is seated through a multi-piece tsuba with
the tang secured with a bamboo peg.
The military type hilt is typical officer quality. It is constructed of a wood base,
covered in ray skin with the traditional 3 brass cherry blossoms all wrapped in a
brown cloth tape with a twist. The kabuto-gane, (pommel) is
copper/brass. The scabbard
is wood based with an ornate copper/brass ashi is in place for carrying. It has
the std speckle finish with some wear and scrapes from honest wear. As is most often the case with
these scabbards a spring clip retention system is employed. Overall Exc+

SW-86 Japanese
Type 94 Army Officer
Sword
Here is a great sword I sold a few years ago that is back on trade to me.
Nice Officer Shin-Gunto examples are all but dried up. This one has an NM
signed blade with a nice prominent temper line. The tang is “Hirotada Saku”
stamped. No sharpening and just a few dots of age toward the very tip that
I have not bothered to try to clean. Blade is seated through a multi-piece
tsuba with the tang secured with a bamboo peg. The military type hilt is
typical officer quality. It is constructed of a wood base, covered in
shark skin and the traditional 3 brass cherry blossoms all wrapped in a
brown cloth tape with a twist. The kabuto-gane, (pommel) is copper/brass.
The previous owner was kind enough to add an original copper
colored cord sarute that was missing from this when I sold it originally.
The field scabbard is wood based with a simple steel ashi in place for
carrying. It has a standard non-removable leather combat cover (factory
shrunk in place). It is of double thickness towards the chape and in fine
shape. It is secured with three snaps. As is most often the case with
field scabbards no spring clip retention system is employed. Overall Exc++
