M-1442 Pilot Badge by Juncker
Nice 3rd pattern badge that is well marked. Manufactured in quality tombac this is a heavy badge. It does show honest wear. The eagle is assembled to the wreath with 2 rivets in the usual fashion. These rivets are to commonly found ones we see on Juncker badges. They are found in a small depression cast around the rivet hole in the wreath. Hinge is again typical Juncker with a soldered pin. The catch again is tombac. Nice detailed badge. 44.7gr Exc+

M-1508 Pilot Badge
Later example with a tombac wreath and zinc eagle. It does show honest wear. The eagle is assembled to the wreath with 2 rivets in the usual fashion. They are found in a small depression cast around the rivet hole in the wreath. Hinge is sheet metal with a magnetic pin. The catch again is tombac. Nice detailed badge. Exc+

M-1315 Pilot/Observer Badge
Mid period zinc. Much of the finish is lost to time however there is enough gold to the wreath to positively identify this as a combined pilot/observer. There is no oxidizing or powdering. eagle is a zinc example with most the silver absorbed. There is no oxidizing. The eagle is assembled to the wreath with 2 rivets in the usual fashion. The eagle will move ever so slightly, a condition we see occasionally and I want ed to mention it. . Pin is tombac as is the block hinge. The pin is a bit wiggly and bent. This badge is unmarked. Nice detailed badge. Exc+
$595

M-1254 Cased Pilot Badge
This is a transitional example with a good tombak wreath with good silvered finish and some of the sparkle left to the wreath. The eagle is a zinc example with most the silver absorbed. There is no oxidizing. The eagle is  assembled to the wreath with 2 rivets in the usual fashion. Hinge is sheet metal with a steel pin and finally a tombak catch. The detail of the eagle's wings is wonderful. The  case is a later example matching the badge. It has the usual textured blue leatherette covering with a magnetic catch and hinge. The gold leaf lettering to the top is worn but still legible. Exc+

M-1372 Outstanding Technical Achievement Medallion
Recently taken in on trade, this was purchased a short while ago from Peter Whamond, rather than redescribe I'll let Peter do the work:

L000460 OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN THE TECHNICAL BRANCH OF THE AIR-FORCE MEDALLION. (Medaille für Ausgezeichnete Leistungen im Technischen Dienst der Luftwaffe)

BACKGROUND: The Outstanding Achievement in the Technical Branch of the Air-Force Medallion was introduced by Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring in July 1940 for award to personnel who contributed outstanding achievements to the technical development of the Luftwaffe. The Technical branch of the Luftwaffe was under command of the RLM, Reichsluftfahrtministerium, (National Air Ministry), and was responsible for all technical developments within the Luftwaffe.

BACKGROUND: Roughly, 3" diameter, 1/8" thick, die struck, alloy construction, non-portable medallion with a nickel/silver plated finish. The obverse of the medallion features an embossed, Luftwaffe style eagle in flight, clutching a canted swastika in one talon, encompassed by the embossed, Latin script, "Für Ausgezeichnete Leistungen im Technischen Dienst der Luftwaffe", (For Outstanding Achievements in the Technical Service of the Air Force). The reverse of the medallion features the embossed profile of Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, encompassed by the embossed, Latin script, "Der Oberbefehlshaber Der Luftwaffe Reichsmarschall Göring", (The Commander-in Chief of the Air-Force Reichsmarschall Göring). The medallion retains about 80% of its age dulled nickel/silver plated finish with spots of wear to the base alloy.
